Sivakasi blast on SEP 2012


Seven people have been held in connection with Wednesday’s blaze at fireworks factory in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, the police say.

Seven men, who include a factory worker, had been charged with culpable homicide


In the meantime, the death toll to 38, 46 treated for other injuries.
The blaze, took place in the town of Sivakasi is, the center of India and the foundation of the firecracker industry.
The town has 700 factories and produces 90% of India fireworks.

4. Najmul Hoda, superintendent of police for the Virudhunagar district where Sivakasi town is located, told the BBC that 38 bodies had been recovered from the site and there were "no more bodies inside."
